March 24, 2001 at 9:44am in Champaign, Illinois Asha Christine came into the world! She was the only one out of my four children that was born naturally (meaning the other three came by C-section). So, I have unique and special memories of her birth. One of the memories that I look back on and laugh about was how there were so many people in the delivery room at the time she was born. Matt, my Mom, the doctor, two nurses, and then several students who were there to observe (funny I don't really remember them asking if I minded, but I'm sure they did). It was quite the party! But seriously, there was much rejoicing when she was born. Here are my thoughts from my journal that I wrote in the day she was born, "When I saw Asha for the first time I began to cry! All I could say over and over again was, 'she is so beautiful'! I am so thankful! I couldn't have asked for anything more! I hope she will always know what a gift and miracle she is to us." Asha continues to be a joy, a gift and a miracle. Life would be dull without her frequent hugs and creative play.
Here are some pictures from her special day.
I brought cupcakes into her class and everyone sang to her.
Asha got a big pink soft bunny as one of her gifts.
Her request was Spaghetti Factory for dinner!
