A Day For Matt......

Yesterday was a special day for us! We got to celebrate with our friends not only Matt's 37th Birthday but also Memorial Day! The weather was perfect, the burgers were great and time with friends was memorable! Thanks everyone for helping to make this day so great!

Feels Like Summer

It feels like summer here in Seattle! The sandbox was cleaned out and fresh sand was put in! Fun for all! Matt and I have been secretly hoping that with the sandbox out there will be less digging in other areas around the yard. We can only dream! Our two boys love to dig!

10 Years!

Yesterday, May 16th, Matt and I celebrated our 10 Year Anniversary! A friend of ours was gracious enough to watch our children so we could have an extended evening out together. It was wonderful! First we went downtown to a restaurant called Wild Ginger. Very elegant and yummy food! After a nice time talking, eating and reminiscing on 10 years we went to an IMAX show and walked around by the Space Needle. The weather was warm and the time was memorable! Matt wrote me a very special card that I know I will read over and over again. He has such a great way with words! Thanks Honey for a great day!!! Below are some pictures of our date!

Mother's Day Reflections

I am very thankful to be a Mother! There are many days where I feel like I fall short of what I could be as a Mom, but most days I feel thankful! I'm thankful that I had a Mother who was a good example to me! I'm thankful for all that I have learned from her! I'm thankful for being able to have four children! Each one so unique and amazing! I'm thankful (most days) I can stay home with my children! I'm thankful that daily I see new things about them and see them grow and change. Today for the first time Luke said to me as I was tucking him into bed, "Sweet dreams Mommy....I love you!". I'm thankful I can hear other sweet words from my children like, "hold me Mommy", "watch this Mommy", "play with me Mommy", "I made this for you Mommy". Being a Mother is the hardest thing I have ever done, but I'm so thankful I get to do it everyday!

This Mother's Day I spent it with my Mom. My Sister and I had a special breakfast with my Mom at her house. So peaceful and relaxing! As you know, my Mom recently just finished her last treatment of chemo and radiation. That day she looked radiant! I would have never known she just went through all that! She is still often tired, but slowly gaining her strength back. What a honor it was to be with her! To be reminded what a wonderful Mom I have been blessed to have! My Mom has 10 grandchildren now (from two daughters)! She has been at every one of their births - watching as each one has come into the world! Can you believe it? I certainly hope I have that honor when my kids have their own children!

I hope that all the Moms out there had a special day too!

Good Morning!

Good morning little Jeffee! This is what I see when I come to get Jeffrey in the morning. Then I sing him the good morning song (Good morning, good morning, good morning...it's time to rise and shine.."). Oh, my goodness....does he just melt your heart or what?

Random thing that made me laugh today. I was out shopping and I saw this little book called, Pocket Parent. I didn't really have a chance to look closely at it, but I think it was a help book for parents that is small enough you can stuff in your pocket. It kind of made me laugh. So, if your kid starts screaming and throwing a fit at the store, you quickly pull out your Pocket Parent and read what you should do. Or, if your a restaurant and your kid starts throwing food...quick pull out your guide from your pocket. Hee hee! Well seriously, maybe I need that!
