Last week Matt and I took a short trip to Kirkland (30 minutes from home). Partly for a pre-birthday celebration and partly just because it had been a really long time since we have gone away just the two of us. It was only one night...but we enjoyed it immensely. A friend of ours got us a great deal at a fancy hotel right on Lake Washington. We got to kayak, have a sunset picnic by the water, sleep in, try out a new coffee shop, and go for a long jog together in the late morning. It was wonderful!!!
